Captionify v0.3.6: Subtitle & Media Fixes
This one’s for everyone who’s had Captionify trip up on them lately. Version 0.3.6 is out, and it tackles a couple of issues that have been more than just minor annoyances.
What Went Wrong & How It Was Fixed
Subtitle Files Not Working
Many users couldn't load their subtitle files because of a simple but frustrating issue: subtitle files are created differently on Windows computers versus Mac computers. Most subtitle files come from Windows, but we'd only tested with Mac files. Now Captionify can read both types properly, so your subtitles should load without problems no matter where they came from.Videos and Audio Not Playing
Before this update, Captionify could only play media files that your device naturally supported. This meant many common video and audio formats simply wouldn't work. The new version uses improved technology that plays many more types of files. While this makes the app download size a bit larger, you'll now be able to work with a lot more media formats. This is a big step forward for Captionify, and it should make your experience smoother.
These fixes address some of the most disruptive issues reported recently. If you’ve run into trouble with subtitles or media playback, this update should set things right.
